Adura Technologies, Inc. is a growing VC-funded Cleantech startup headquartered in downtown San Francisco. Our Company produces wireless mesh-networking devices for commercial building lighting controls. We provide innovative solutions to help customers reduce their energy consumption, operating costs and carbon footprint.
We are currently expanding our team by engaging a talented Mobile iOS Software Engineer with a strong work ethic as well as excellent project management and communication skills. The successful applicant will work closely with the hardware and software engineering, and product management teams. Interested candidates should be passionate about their work and always look for creative solutions to problems. This is a contract position, ranging from 6-12 months, depending on number of hours worked during the week; this is a part time contract.
Primary Responsibilities
The iOS developer will create applications on iOS devices (both iPhone/iPod Touch as well as iPad) that will interact with, configure, and control our lighting system. You must be a self-starter with a passion for creating intuitive user-oriented applications on mobile platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of Adura’s mobile tools.
- Own the architecture and implementation of Adura's iOS applications used for designing, deploying, and configuring our lighting control systems
- Work with product management to build intuitive tools that will be used by electricians, energy retrofitters and other Adura partners in the field
- Interface iOS devices to a variety of custom hardware peripherals, including ZigBee radios and barcode scanners
Qualifications and Requirements
- BS in computer science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of object oriented software design and development experience
- 2+ years of Objective-C based commercial application development using the iOS SDK
- Detailed understanding of the design patterns utilized in iOS application development
- Experience on iOS with network communication, web services, XML parsing, and custom graphics
- Extensive programming experience for mobile device user interfaces
- Experience with revision control tools (subversion preferred), bug tracking tools, and general commercial software team-oriented development practices/tools
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- A passion for clean technologies and mobile devices
- Example applications written for iOS that can be demonstrated (please submit link to mobile applications with job resume, if possible)
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with development for Android or other mobile platforms
- Knowledge of lighting controls
- Experience with ZigBee or other wireless mesh networking technologies
- Experience with writing software to interface with hardware accessories on the iOS platform and/or experience with firmware development for embedded systems
