Adura Technologies™ is the leading provider of wireless lighting controls and energy management systems. Our mission is to provide cost-effective lighting control solutions for new and retrofitted commercial buildings. We help building owners, tenants and facility managers increase energy efficiency and enable granular control over a building’s lighting – each fixture is programmable and provides real-time data for facilities managers.
HISTORY
Adura co-founder Charlie Huizenga developed the company’s core wireless technology at the University of California, Berkeley Center for the Built Environment. First to market with a wireless lighting control system, Adura’s core technology is now third generation hardware, having been continually upgraded to meet the growing demands of an expanding client base. Since its founding in 2005, Adura has seen its system deployed in more than 6.5 million square feet of space for various uses from offices to parking garages for customers that range from major municipalities to some of Silicon Valley’s most innovative companies.
TECHNOLOGY
Adura provides a control platform that provides unprecedented management over commercial building lighting. Adura has an IP portfolio that holds three patents on software and controls and is developing four families of provisional patents and patent applications on the controller and software.
The heart of the Adura System is the Wireless Light Controller that can control one or more ballasts, LED lamps or other lighting loads to provide the ultimate in granular control. No longer does an entire floor of lighting need to be wasting energy only because a few lights are needed.
The Adura web-based management software provides flexible scheduling, daylight harvesting, occupancy-based control, personal control and load shedding. Beyond controlling lighting, the Adura Enterprise Database tracks and monitors energy use, carbon footprint, and peak load to show you when and where you are using energy. It can also provide valuable maintenance information including reporting on failed lamps and ballasts.
The Adura platform integrates with the majority of switches, occupancy sensors and photo sensors available in the market today and is also capable of integrating with other building management systems.
